Our team ensures a collaborative strategy since the very beginning, allowing a better study management and more accurate outcomes.
We design and develop reliable image acquisition protocols tailored to the purpose of each research project.
Our analysis tools eliminate the burden of having to rely on complex and time-consuming software’s.
Our software pipeline has been used to study multiple sclerosis, cerebral small vessel disease and dementia.
By creating new tools to better access the increasingly improved scan information, we are shaping the way medical image analysis is conducted and contributing to more accurate outcome prediction and personalized treatments to patients.
The origins of b2Quant date back to late 2015, when the need to include quantitative brain image analysis in the follow-up of multiple sclerosis patients led to an MSc thesis in biomedical engineering developed in collaboration with Hospital Egas Moniz, in Lisbon, Portugal. The lesion segmentation software pipeline that was developed in this project won the 1st prize in the 2017 Fraunhofer Challenge and also the Multiple Sclerosis Study Group 2017 Spring Meeting.
Motivated by the success of this project and the clear need for quantitative image analysis in the follow-up of several brain disorders, a highly motivated team with expertise in brain imaging tools was created. Our aim is to extend our knowledge and software solutions to various image acquisition and analysis techniques, as well as to a number of brain disorders that heavily rely on image follow-up.
Passionate about bringing innovation to the MedTech market, Rafael and Ricardo dedicate their full time to b2Quant, collaborating with experienced neurologists and neuroradiologists in the application of quantitative image analysis to brain MRI scans.
